Bear-rections

Igor Writes-

Somewhere, a product designer just got fired.

For the last week, our crack news team, which is two guys and a big pile of crack, have been watching Bush and the Queen of England as they skip hand in hand through meery-fun-land. We've been running a timer to determine how long it will take to embarass himself and the rest of the country.

The clock has now been stopped. President Bush accidentally implied that the Queen was 200 years old, then stared awkwardly at her until she looked back up, at which point the President of the United States winked at the Queen of England. Look, you can't imagine how awkward this is until you see the video.

Here's a video of James Randi, a world famous skeptic, talking about the myth of homeopathic medicine. Trust me, this is good.

Yes... homeopathic medicine is a myth. Sorry, I just feel like it actually does do things for a lot of people and he doesn't actually have "what homeopathy is all about" down. I just checked my homeopathic medicines and the most anything is diluted is 4. Just like with a lot of over the counter medicines, it doesn't really do anything if you buy some shitty brand. Sorry, there's a huge homeopathic school in Seattle and we have two family friends that are homeopathic doctors (working with cancer patients, HIV positive patients, and other patients with life threatening diseases and keeping them alive for months/years longer than expected (including a friend of ours with lukemia)) and they've helped my mom hugely by figuring out what was wrong with her when pretty much every doctor in traditional medicine gave her something that made her worse. Finally she's doing better, so yeah... I don't buy that it's a myth.

But the principle is still do use a chemical which causes similar symptoms to counteract the symptoms themselves, which makes absolutely no sense.

There is a lot to be said about the Placebo Effect.
